Emailing a file that has linked cells

Worksheet has linked cells to a server in the office, but need the sheet to be "correct" when it's emailed and opened by someone in another location without server access.

Do I need to save a copy? How do I make those cells keep the values from that point in time when they were linked to other sheets on the server, before I send them?

This is in Excel 2008 and 2010.

    1) Save a copy of the sheet to another name to preserve the original.

    2) In the copy, highlight all the cells on a sheet

    3) Ctrl-C to copy them

    4) Edit > Paste Special > Values to paste back just the values, removing all formulas.

    5) Repeat with other sheets.

    6) Save and email.
