matrix symbolic algebra in excel

Hi there, I am just wondering if excel can do matrix symbolic algebra ? and how ?

I have many matrices i need to multiply to each other and they get really2 messy when i did it manually

Excel doesn't do symbolic algebra in the sense of Maple and Mathematica.

It does do named ranges, and VBA handles variable representing matrices just fine.

could you clarify what you mean by named ranges and variable representing matrices ?
what i want is just something that can give me result of multiplication of say 3*3 matrix with another 3*3 matrix whereby all the elements of matrix are symbols ie a1,a2,a3,.............
