Formula to populate cell based on data input elsewhere

Help please. I need to track a number of people as to whether they are present or not. I input data on one sheet which tells me whether or not they are present but I need the information to flow to another sheet.
If a person is listed in 1 place I need them to be shown in hospital, in a 2nd place they need to be shown on vacation, otherwise I need to be able to see special comments for them if any are appropriate. Currently I am using IF & IF in the same formula but it does not allow me to eliminate the special comment properly.
Here is a copy of the ugliness I am currently using:

In this case C32 is the reference to that particular person.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanx

Oh my, do I feel silly. I tried something simple and solved it myself. Thanks anyhow.

If you are wanting to create a list with people's names and their location status on one page, while referencing input data on another page, create that list as you would setup a report. Then have your display cell look at the data entry cell (on another sheet). Consider coding each status {1,2 ... n} and using the =CHOICE() function. If this is not what you are looking to do, post a simple example document so that others may key off it to reply.
