I know how to disable the splash screen with the /e switch but this only works when opening the excel main program.
Does anyone know of a switch or method of disabling the splash screen when opening a workbook from a shortcut?
Regards
Alan

It would help if you said which version of Excel - this should be in your user profile
Hope that helps.

Sorry, its 2007.
1.Right-click on the desktop.
2. Click New and select Shortcut.
3. Click the Browse button and go to the Excel executable (“C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\EXCEL.EXE”). This might be different - mine is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\EXCEL.EXE" - Ecel 2010 with Windows 7
4. After the full path and the end quotes, add one space and type in /e.
e.g. “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Excel.EXE” /e
5. Click Next.
6. Type a name for the shortcut.
7. Click Finish.
Thanks for the prompt reply Roy but I think I explained it badly. I can disable the splash screen using your method to the main program but if I click directly on my workbook icon or a shortcut directly to my workbook the splash screen pops up. I know it isnt a big thing but just wondered if it can be disabled.
