Separating Text on either side of a slash

    Hi there -

New user, sorry if this is a dumb question.

I have a column of data in Column A that is formatted as Category/Subcategory. For instance, Produce/Apples. I need to be able to separate Produce and Apples into separate columns. Is there a way to do this? Perhaps a method would be to make two columns with this same data, and in one column delete all the data before the slash, and in the other, delete the data after the slash?

    Thank you!

    Andrew

First select the data you need to adapt
Should be in the same column
Then select the Data menu at the top of the screen
    Select Text o columns
    Check"delimited"
    Click Next
Check "others" and enter a slash
    Then click "finish"
