    Combining data from multiple workbooks

    Hi all,

I have to plead ignorance as to where to start with this. If someone could get me on the right path, I'd be much obliged.

I'm trying to pull information from several different workbooks (which are invoices) into a single worksheet. I may have 40 different identical workbooks. I'd like to pull pieces of information from each of them and list them in the single worksheet.

For instance, if E13 on each of the 40 workbooks is a person's name, I'd like to drop each of those values into the combined worksheet, starting at C2 and going from there (C3, C4, etc).

I suspect this will require VBA, but can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks for your help!

Re: Combining data from multiple workbooks

    Hi all,

My apologies for the lack of diligence on my part before posting the above. I did find the following summary posted by JB that addresses my issue here.

I'm having a little trouble with the code, I was wondering if someone could give me a hand. I've posted two spreadsheets - "Mock-Up.xls" is the spreadsheet that I'll have many of. I'm trying to pull key points of information into the "Combined Master" spreadsheet. The fields I'm trying to pull (Number, Date, Amount, etc) are highlighed in yellow on the master.

Despite the fact that it's really spelled out, I'm having some trouble getting the bat off my shoulder with modifying JB's "section to customize."

    Any suggestions?

Re: Combining data from multiple workbooks

Hi guys - Sorry for being a pest, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to tackle this?

I've tried to make it clear in the attached spreadsheets what I'm trying to accomplish. I'll have many files like the "Mock-Up.xls" which will all be identical in format. I'm trying to pull and stack five points of data (C10, E13, F10 and F39) from all of them into the "Combined Master.xlsx" spreadsheet.

Any assistance would be enormously appreciated. Thank you!!
