    Permanently Deleting Columns or Rows

    I have a template that was created by someone who I no longer have contact with.

    They have permanently deleted columns and rows to make for a nice clean looking sheet. How is this exactly done? I was playing around with CTRL + - but that doesn't seem to function the same in other sheets I create. Is this possible to replicate in 2007? Thanks!

    Hi,

    You could try hiding the rows / columns.

    Select the rows / columns to be hidden > right click > hide
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1

    No, I don't need to hide rows... I need to delete them permanently. Similar to the sheet I attached... Anyone?

    The rows are hidden, and the columns beyond I are set to zero width; they are not 'gone.'

    Sweep's suggestion is gospel.

    Okay, then how do you have the column letter indicator gone if they are just hidden? If you select column J and click unhide nothing happens. Actually look at the sheet before responding please.

    Columns K onwards are hidden. To view them select column J and you'll see a small black dot in the top right corner of cell J1. Left click and drag this to the right and the hidden columns will appear.

    Perhaps you should actually read responses, Brittany:
    and the columns beyond I are set to zero width;
