    Auto advance with date/time stamp

I have a simple worksheet where I track the use and location of specific tapes. The tapes are grouped into sets, and each set is barcode labeled. There are 4 locations that the tapes may be at any given time. What I want to do is to scan the barcode of the tape into a column and have the active column advance by one, scan the location it will go to next, have the location scan generate a date/time and advance down one row and back to column one. I've tried recording a macro, but no luck. Any suggestions?

    Thanks-in-Advance

You wpn't be able to record a macro for a barcode scanner, check the manufacturer for assistance
    Hope that helps.

Rather than rely on the scanner, is there a way to merely 'see' the data input and once there is data in a cell, then move and update?
