Excel 2007 : pivot table? paste/transpose? vlookup?

Help!! I know there's a way to do this, I just don't know what it is I am trying to help someone else who has zero excel knowledge but created a spreadsheet and entered 1500 lines of data:

I have the following columns:
student, teacher 1, teacher 2, teacher 3

What I really need is to have columns for just the student and teacher, and every student will have 3 row entries. So it would look more like:

joe smith, mrs. white
joe smith, mr. bell
joe smith, ms. knight
