    Date Format Conversion

    Hi,

I have a list of dates which is in this format
    mm/dd/yyyy

    08/20/2002
    01/01/2003
    11/22/2008

I would like to convert into dd/mm/yyyy . I tried using the format dates option but somehow those date start with 0 can't convert.

I am not sure is there any other better way to do or I need to use a macro/vb codes to swap the for mm and dd ?

    Please advise.

    Re: Date Format Conversion

    Hi,

Are these proper date numbers or just text? Use =ISNUMBER(A1) to check

If they're numbers there's no reason why they can't be formatted to dd/mm/yyyy. if they are text then use

to convert them to proper dates

Hi Richard, this works great. However, if those date is number (column 2 true), it cannot convert properly.

    08/03/2008 TRUE 15/03/9518
    08/21/2008 FALSE 21/08/2008
    09/08/2009 TRUE 04/05/1937
    08/10/2009 TRUE 03/07/1997
    06/05/2009 TRUE 08/04/9942
    07/19/2009 FALSE 19/07/2009

    Re: Date Format Conversion

I have solved this issue by converting all the dates into text then applied your formula.

    =TEXT(A1,"dd/mm/yyyy")

Once again, thanks for your help
