adding a characters at the end of an equation.

I am sure this is easy and I'm simply searching for the wrong thing. I want to auto fill a column numerically =+1 style. But, at the end of the number I would like there to be a -C. It would look like:
    1000-C
    1001-C
    1002-C
    ....

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You can format cell as 0"-C" and write just number in it
Never use Merged Cells in Excel

I'm not quite sure what you mean. I don't want to write all the numbers in because I have over 5000 entries to label. I would really like to be able to use the autofill feature to do this.

    Hi,

All zbor is saying is once you've autofilled your column with numbers, 1001,1002 etc.. just select the whole column, and choose Format->Cells->Number choose Custom and in the custom format box enter 0"-C"

Alternatively, create your column of numbers then in a second column use the formula =Text(a1,"####0")&"-C". This will give you the result you want. The other approach only adds the -C to the format and not the value.

    Or another option,
=(ROW()+999)&"-C" dragged down (modify the 999 depending on what row you are starting in
