Date sorting Problem

Hello All

I am have a few problems with the sort function in excel that I am unable to work out.

I have a small sheet with about 20 dates of functions that I need to sort into date order some have been this year and some next but excel will not sort them in the correct order.

I have attached a sample so any 1 can see my problem.

Have a look at the formatting of the date.

Are you using real dates or just text that looks like dates?

not 2 shore about that. I am using a the following format in the date cell. 00\/00\/00,

This allows me to enter the dates quickly with out the slashes but as you say it may be just text that looks like a date.

Has any 1 any ideas who I could make the date sort and still be able to enter date quickly with out the slash
