    Excel formula trick ??

When you are making a formula say

    =A5 + A6+A7

when you are doing this in cell D423, it sometimes gets annoying to have to either type in A6 and A7 manually or to navigate to A6 and A7.

I know there is a key you can hold down after doing A5 that keeps you on A5 even after putting in the + sign, so that you don't have to navigate all the way back there.

    I can't figure it out!

Does anyone know what this is?

    Please help!!

    Thanks,
    Michael

if you are in D423 and you start to type =
and then scroll up to A5 and click on A5, you'll see
= A5 in the formula bar. Then just hit the + key and click on the next cell (i.e. A7). Excel never takes you back to D423. Am I missing something?

    Hey thanks for your response

    So basically-

when you use the keyboard to navigate, it sets the keyboard navigation back to the cell where you are entering the formula. So yeah, if you are using the mouse, it doesn' t shift the screen and you can just click on the next cell. But, if you are using the keyboard, it returns you to the cell with the formula

Hope that helps clarify the problem.

    Thanks,
    Michael
