    Referencing cells

    Hi,

I have a large amount of data (thousands of rows, so manually inputting all this is not really viable) which contains references to cells in other documents I am using.

My question is this: is it possible for me to make excel make it just the number rather than the reference? I am going to need to use this file on a different computer in order to do statistical analysis (grr @ course making me use spss) and I am concerned that this one column I have done this for will not work properly on another machine because the referenced document will not be there.

Basically, to save the hours and hours, the column concerned is the results of a formula using data in the other document, so I referenced the other document to basically copy the values in, because just copying and pasting the cells doesn't work :/

I just wanted to find out before I embark on spending the next few days manually going down the column and typing each number out again.

    Many thanks and... *fingers crossed*

    Won't

    paste special > values

    work?
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1
