Selected Cell Highlighting

My hard drive crashed at work today and I got upgraded to Excel 2007. I am having some trouble getting it adjusted to suit my needs. Is there a way to adjust the color of selected cells. When you click on a column or a row or you select a cell or a group of cells it colors those cells a light blue color. The blue is to light and I would like to darken it. Is that possible and where do I go to do it.

This may be a very simple question, but I have looked everywhere I can think to look to try and make this change.

Not sure this will work in Excel 2007 but
Excel 2000 uses the color scheme from your system preferences, so to change it:

Select: Start,
Select: Control Panel
Select: Display

Select: Appearance Tab
Select: Advance Button

In the “Item:” drop down box
Click on: Selected Items

Change the color to what you want.

Just be aware that this will change it for ALL your applications.

I thought about that and gave it a try, but it did not change anything. I am currently using a similar idea by changing the Window to a light shade of gray. This is not the ultimate solution because now everything has a background that is light gray, but at least I can select a column, do a search, and see where the item was found.

It worked on my XP box, but I could not find a way to do it under Vista.

I just checked my sons 2007 version,
The only thing that I can suggest is you change the gridline colors.

This is under Excel Options
Advanced

About 3/4 of the way down, under the heading:

Display Options for this Worksheet

Change it to Black or perhaps Dark Blue.
