How would I take the value in a cell "US-MNO999-INTEL-PC-FW" and copy only the US-MNO999 portion of the text string in the next cell? The text that comes after the US-MNO999 is always different so I don't think I can use the right or left formulas.

If A1 contains "US-MN0999-INTEL-PC-FW"
Would in B1: =Left(A1,9) do the trick?
