How to Mass Delete a Specific Word

    Hello,

I'll preface this by saying I'm excel retarded.

I have a large spreadsheet that has results entered as: 96% owed.

Now when I try to graph it, it refuses to accept that it's a number due to the owed following the percentage (I assume).

How do I delete the owed that follows the percentage value without deleting it by hand 20 000 times.

    ONE MORE QUICK QUESTION

I have entered the dates as 26 Feb 2008 and when I double click them they move from the left side of the cell, to the right side of the cell and transform into 26-Feb-08. I assume that's the spreadsheet recognizing that it represents a date...

How do I make the spreadsheet recognize all of the entered dates as dates? I've tried formatting the cells but it doesn't seem to work.

    Thanks!

In relation to your first questions using the 'Find and Replace' function may do the trick.

Find the word owed, replace it with nothing...
