I hope I'm not going over old ground. I am using Excel from Office 2007 (SP2 MSO) to open up a spreadsheet originally produced as an Excel 97-2003 (*.xls) file. The file opens up fine. When I try to save it, I navigate to the folder I need it saved in, but when I click on save the screen goes semi-transparent (grey). Sometimes I see a window that says Excel has encountered a problem and will close and it will advise if it finds a solution. Excel closes but immediately reopens and the file in question is back.
Any ideas?
