    Transpose range into table

    Hi,

    The task, In the attached WB, is to transpose the range A1:A15 unto a two-dimensional range.

    I know how to implement this with INDIRECT or OFFSET.
    +++ Didn't try INDEX yet +++

    My question is: what formula can be used that will be suitable - no matter which upper-left cell I choose.

    I assume that the basic indicators for such a formula will be the Row & COLUMN of where it resides.

    for example: J3, J19, H15 and D20 should return 1 while all using the SAME formula.

    Please note the difference layout of the green and gray tables.

    I would appreciate a formula for both layouts.
    +++ I assume the formulas will be different for each layout +++

    Is there a chance to build such a formula ?

    Thanks, Elm
