    Scientific format

    Hi,

Is there a way to force Excel to display the Scientific format of large numbers when the power-digit can be divided only into 5 - such as: E+05, E+10, E-15 and the number itself will be adjusted accordingly.

    1.23E+07 will be either: 123E+05 or: 0.00123E+10

What I basically mean is that the: 0.00E+00 will be one of the following:

    0.00E+05
    0.00E+10
    0.00E+15
    0.00E-05 etc...

    Thanks, Elm

    Thanks.

My apology if I was not clear enough.

I'm familiar with the Custom format but I couldn't figure out how to define such so it will automatically adjust itself to on which divides into 5 (no remainder).

Could you be so kind to attach a small WB example with 7-8 different large numbers with the Scientific format to be as requested ?

    Thanks a lot, shg.

My Excel accepts only ####0.00E+00 and not: ####0.00e+00

The forum converts posts that are all in uppercase to lowercase. Glad you figured it out.
