How to enter a number beginning with 0

Hi All

Im populating a list containing grid references, some of them begin with a zero

e.g 0925

However when i enter it excel automatically converts it to 925, ignoring the 0.

Its obviously important that the grid reference is as entered, i've tried different formats to no avail.

Any ideas?
