How to have a column not affected by Auto-Filter

    Hi,

I want to know how you can have a first column ( which will contain number 1 to 150 in 150 rows ) not affected by autofilter so You can see HOW many filtered results you get once you choose one. ( Right now, when i use the auto filter, my column I dont want affected displays not the numbers from 1 to ( the number of entries filtered ) but it shows the number besides Every column BEFORE filtering.

Thanks for you help. Just so its clearer
(Column not affected ) ________Filter 1 Filter 2 Filter 3 Etc
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    etc...

    A possible workaround....

If you truly have those numberings of 1 to 150 and assuming that starts at A2, then replace that numbering with formula like:

    =SUBTOTAL(3,$B$2:B2) copied down

where B has entries in each cell..

Then when you filter , Column A adjusts it's numbering.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
