formula needed for new entries

Dear All,

Kindly see as per attached file i have B3=C2, B4=C3 and so on untill the value changes in A. Which formula in need in B so that when the number sequence in A changes
then the formula in B should start again based on A (as in yellow cells)

afraid not. What should change when the value in column A changes? Can you post a data sample with your expected results mocked up manually and explain the rules? Right now, the formula is the same as just copied down. Why are there empty cells in column B?

maybe starting in B2 and copied down

=IF(A2=A1,C1,"")
