Cool Count to "X", then restart count at "1"

Hello all, I'm trying to get excell 2007 to count to a defined end number, then restart at 1. Example. I work with 171 other people, we are defined numerically from 1 - 171. Our job assignments rotate around this "Board" in 6 to 7 person groups. If person 170 is the first person up to start the next group, they will accompany person 171 (rotate the "board"and restart with 1.) 1, 2, 3 and 4. This would make a 6 person group. I'd appreciate eny help and as long as Ive used this product Ive never had to get more complex than simple functions. Thank you all in advance.

    Welcome to the forum.

If A1 contains 1, then in A2 and copy down,

    =MOD(A1,172)+1
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
