Excel 2007 : Text and Formula in same cell?

Good Morning,

I am curious to know if it's possible to enter a cell with text data followed by a formula. Specifically, I would like to enter into cell A1 the name Joe and have it followed by a number in cell A7 (say the number is 5). I would like cell A1 to read Joe 5 - is there a formula or solution for this?
