    Top 10 values
    LARGE(IF(dropdown=date range,dataset,""),1 (or 2,3,4,5....)

    Value lookup
    INDEX(Name,SMALL(IF(dropdown=daterange,IF(largevalue=dataset,ROW(Name)-ROW(first name in range)+1)),COUNTIF($F$48:$F48,$F48))

    I was sure that it was an index, but this is how I got it to work - thought that I would share
