Displaying the colour of a Conditional Format in another Cell

    Hi all,

This is my first time on here and I am in need of assistance for the following:

I have used Conditional Formatting in various cells. I would now like other cells to lookup the colours displayed in the Conditional Formatted cells?

I have attached an example of what i'm trying to do:

As you can see on the 'Figures' worksheet all the conditional formatting is complete. I now need the cells in the 'Initial Breakdown' worksheet to display the colours of the Conditional Formatting.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You!!!!

Unfortunately, this isn't as easy as it should be. You cannot interrogate a cell for it's format through standard excel functions. Even when you do this via VBA, the conditionally formatted colour isn't revealed as it is with normal formatting. You have to go direct to the conditional formatting formula and work it out that way.

All in all, it's quite a bad day out if you are after doing what you want to.

Chip Pearon has an article here that should help out - including a user defined function to allow you to do this.

Having looked at your sample sheet

If you simplify the conditions in Sheet "figures" then apply exactlly the same conditions to Sheet "Score Sheet" then you should achieve your goal.

you can name every cell you reference then use those names instead in conditional formatting across worksheets and use formuala is option instead

    Try this workbook

I have simplified the conditions that dictate the colour formats and have used formulae to define them.

And applied this to both sheets

There seems to be inconsistancies in your formulae in Sheet "figures" Column F , maybe
    I don't fully understand them.

I hope it is close to what your aims are.
