Multiple independant variables in cost estimate

    All,

I am working on a cost estimate and I am having trouble with some equations in my master template. I need to format the spread sheet, so that "Deployed Units" change automatically, when the following variables are changed: FY date, units deployed, and life cycle expectancy (years).

I have attached a simplified dummy book to show the results I want (highlighted in red), when I change the variables (highlighted in yellow). Please do not worry about "FY" row formatting, just the outcome of the correct deployed units.

Sorry for the ambiguous title, I wasn't sure what else to out

Thank you for your help in advance, this forum has always been extremely helpful!

If we remove the content from H5 (narrative) then you could use something like:

    C9:
    =IF(C8<$C3,0,INDEX($C5:$R5,1+MOD($C2-MOD($C3-C8,$C2),$C2)))
    copied across to R9
apply a Custom Format to C9:R9 of: [=0]"";#

C9:R9 can in turn be copied to C18:R18, C27:R27

    Does that help ?

edit: should add - it's not clear what happens should count of units exceed cycle term (or if indeed that's even a possibility)
