SUM by Date

In Sheet 1, I have a list of dates ranging from 4-4-10 that will run until the end of Sept. In column AD I have dollard amounts. I want to use a different sheet, list each day of each month, and from Sheet 1 give the net profit/loss for that given day? I can do this by filtering but it's a little time consuming. Is there an easier way to accomplish this?
