    Data and Graphics

    Hi,

there's a way to find a function from the data of the xy points?

For instance: y=0,1,4,9 and x=0,1,2,3 and then excel find that the function is y=x^2

    Thanks.

In a three-cell wide range, enter

    =LINEST(y,x^{1,2})

... and confirm with Crtl+Shift+Enter. The three results are the coefficients of x^2, x, and the constant.

The function may have another name in your version of Excel. See http://www.piuha.fi/excel-function-name-translation/
