Vlookup with a wildcard (excel 2003)

Hello all. I have a spread sheet with client names, addresses etc and I need to validate that the Formal Salutation on our records is similar with regards to the surname on the client's Appelation and if its not then I'd like to flag any differences.

I've attached an example spreadsheet with the last name on the list being incorrect.
So to clarify, the surname needs to be the same but as the number of characters before the surname on the Appelation and the Formal Salutation are different im not sure a vlookup would work, or can we use a wildcard?
Cheers and beers for any help.

Just a thought but can we do a lookup using the last 4 or 5 characters of the Formal Salutation and compare it with the last 4 or 5 characters of the Appelation?
