cannot use find and replace feature

    Hi,

I copied a few files from office to my pendrive and work at home. When i used find and replace feature. a message stated the workbook may be protected. How can it be so? Those are my files that i use in office, so no one had set any password, protection, etc.

    Any idea?

    Thanks

Go the Review tab and check the Protect Workbook drop down icon, if you have anything set...

    or in 2003, Tools|Protection|Protect Workbook.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Hi NBVC,

Review --> Protect Workbook --> Restrict Permission --> Unrestricted Access is being ticked.

The message stated "Microsoft office excel cannot find any data to replace. Check if your search formatting or criteria are defined correctly. If you are sure that matching data exists in this workbook, it may be on a protected sheet. Excel cannot replace data on a protected worksheet."

And you checked if Protect Sheet is on (i.e. the Icon will say Unprotect Sheet)?
