How Can I Open Excel Without MS Excel Viewer

I'm on MS Office Excel 2003 and get auto updates. I recieved several auto patches the other day and now I can't open any Office Product (Excel, Word, or Powerpoint) without it coming up in Viewer mode 1st. This causes a lot of problems with my job. I cannot open any .XLS file generated from a website or Lotus Notes. How can I stop the Viewer function?

I've never had Excel Viewer installed but you might want to have a look at you file associations.

In Windows Explorer select Tools and Folder Options...

On the File Types tab have a look what program the XLS extension is associated with.
