Summarizing Data

I have values in cells C10:C110 and they will be like, different or blank cell values. I am try to summarize the values in cells M3:M50 with no duplicate entries. Has anyone ever had the need for this and could possibly give some assistance? Thank You!

I believe this is what you need, if not upload some sample data with expected results so we can better understand your issue.

=SUMPRODUCT((C10:C110<>"")/COUNTIF(C10:C110,C10:C110&""),M3:M50)

Thank you for your response. The formulas are not giving me the results that I am looking for. Perhaps further detail explanation is neccessary. In cells C9:C105 as you will see has multiple entries. Some of which will be alike and some blank. I am attempting to populate a new list reducing the items that have multiple entries down to one entry and omitting blank cells.

The formulae provided generate a unique listing of 44 items (working from your sample file)

Yes, the formula did say"44" upon entry into the cell so that was correct. Although, I am not looking for the amount of unique entries, i am looking to populate a new list of unique entries. Is this possible?

I have attached the sheet with the formulas you have recommended. As you can see, there are multiple entries for each item. Can this be limited to a single entry?

If you compare the formula you have placed into M9 with that actually provided in the earlier post you will find they are a little different.

Paste the one provided into M9 and copy down accordingly.

I had gone back and rechecked the formula and i had placed it in the wrong cell. I have moved the formulas to the correct cells and it works perfectly. Thank you so much! I do have one other question. . . . . As the information in cells C9:C105 are changes will the information change in M9:M100 in order to keep the sheet current and up to date?

M8, M9 onwards will react as the data in C9:C105 is altered, yes.
(assumes Auto Calculation mode of course which would appear to be the case given prior posts)
