Question Database Duplicates and Most Recent Entries!

Hello good people of the Excel Forum!

I need some help with an Excel database. (It's some 9000+ lines long!)
Its a database for a mortgage company and it has several duplicate entries.

What I'm supposed to do is remove the duplicate entries but keep the most recent entry for that person.

I can identify duplicates from social security numbers and I have dates of the most recent activity for each loan.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to do this?
If you need more details I can supply them.

    Thanks,
    Dale

    Welcome to the forum.

I have uploaded a small sample of the database (with FAKE information).
The database I'm working with has several hundred columns of information.

As you can see from the spread sheet, there is a dupe entry of "Smith Andrews". I want to delete the old duplicate entry (9/22/2006) and keep the latest "milestone" (9/30/2006).

But, I need to be able to run this on several thousand lines with several hundred duplicates and entries (sometimes there may be up to 10 duplicates).

    Does this help?

    Thanks,
    Dale
