Reduce workbook size in excel 2007

Is there a way to reduce the number of rows and columns in excel 2007? Instead of 16,000 columns and 1,000,000 rows I would like to shrink it down to 2,000 columns by 100,000 rows

How about hiding the columns and rows?

Select column BXY (column 2001), Cltr+Shift+Right Arrow key, right click, Hide

Select row 100001, Cltr+Shift+Down Arrow key, right click, Hide
