Thanks

Try this one.
What I want is for A2:C2 to be highlighted when a date is entered in C2.
Please see the attached sheet
This doesn't seem to work though as when i take the date out of C3 the row remains highlighted.
well buddy is the date being entered in C2 or C3
I have assumed C2 as mentioned in your previous post
I'm easily confused, sorry. I meant C2. When I take the date out of C2 it remains highlighted.
ok cool,
Just try deleting values in C2 in my sheet. It should not highlight A2:C2.
If there is any value in C2 then A2:C2 will be highlighted in yellow
Ok. I think I got it. Say i want to add more rows then, how can i quickly change the formatting to apply to each row. ie highlight row 3, 4, 5, etc when dates are entered in C3, C4 and C5. Sorry, I'm really a newbie at this excel lark.
well no issues
Please check the attached file.
If you need to copy to further cells then simply select format painter icon and click on the cell that has conditional formatting and then select the cells to which you want the format to be extended to.![]()
I was just about to write to say I just can't get it, but at the last miute, I got it.
Thanks for the help. Really useful.
