    looking up and returning data

    Hi,

I am new here and looking for some help!

I have a spreadsheet for which I want to change two variables, "Test" and "Pass Grade", and it to provide me with a list of students that have achieved that.

As you will be able to see from the example, it current says "Test 3", but this will be changed via a drop down list to either Test 1, Test 2 etc... The pass grade may also change from time to time.

I want the first result to be listed in cell A14 as the "Reference" as I can vlookup to this for students name.

I look forward to your help.

    Use AutoFilter
    Hope that helps.

I was going to use the auto filter, however I only want the results for the students to appear when the different test is selected in the cell C11 instead of changing the filter every time.

This is a small selection of information from a much greater spreadsheet and the data would normally be on a hidden sheet so the results will be in a new sheet.

    Thanks

I have attached an example that I think will achieve what you want. I have tweaked Advanced Filter after recording a macro (as your layout lent itself perfectly to Advanced Filter) so that the filtered data can be output to a different worksheet. You will note that the pass grade needs to be entered with <= preceding it.
