That depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
Dependent Drop Boxes change the validation list in one cell based on the choices that exist in a prior cell.
Here's a sample sheet I've posted showing how it's done. The sheet "CHOICES" has the dependent drop lists (and shows one of the dangers of using them) and the sheet "LISTS" shows the lists and named ranges in use.
Have a look.
Sample Files
Jerry Beaucaire's Excel Tools
The files you want are:
--DependentLists3.xls - 3 levels
--DependentLists2.xls - 2 levels
--DependentLists-SelfSorting.xls - Self-Sorting lists of fruits by color choices
===========
I've also come up with a way to trick one cell to filter itself to different lists or subsets of one BIG list.

Ok.Thanks for the reply JB.
My Problem is that i want to use datavalidation for :
1)Giving the user two choices to select one of them from the list.
2)Lock/Disable those cells which meet Certain Criteria for the same above cells.
Please help me, is it possible to use Data Validation under these two situation.s
I can't really follow your question. Any way you can demonstrate in a workbook, perhaps with a series of sheets showing your desired steps?
Two validations. I would like to, with custom validation, restrict input to a cell that is already validated by drop-down list. The restriction I would like to add is to deny input if any of the preceding cells in the same row areunpopulated. This would require two validations to the first and copied cells. Is this possible. With VBA?

Thanks.
