    using mulitple criteria

    Hi,
    I have 2 columns. Column A has numbers listed in all cells. Column B has the letter "R" in only some cells. What I am trying to do is sum only the numbers in column A that have a "R" in column B.
    I appreciate any feedback.

    Try: =SUMIF(B:B, "R", A:A)
    Never use Merged Cells in Excel
