AutoFilter missing "Ascending" and "Descending" order

I'm using Excel 2003, and have a spreadsheet with 375 rows x 11 columns of information. The file isn't password protected. I tried to use the "Data > Filter > AutoFilter" on the column headings but the filter drop down is missing the "Ascending" and "Descending" options?

    Any idea what I'm missing?

Have you scrolled all the way up in the filter drop-down? It normally comes up with the selection tick boxes showing, and you need to scroll up to see the sort order commands.

    Yep...double checked and triple checked.

Attached is the file with the "AutoFilter"

If it's something with the settings in my Excel, it may work on your PC

Are you sure you're using Excel 2003? Earlier versions don't have the sort option in the filter drop-down.

Re: AutoFilter missing "Ascending" and "Descending" order

Oops...my goof...I thought I grabbed the Office 2003 disk when I went to reinstall the program. I created a shortcut to my desktop as I'm always in it, and labeled it "Excel 2003", thinking that's the disk I grabbed.

Well...I decided to compare the settings between the machine that was working and my laptop and discovered some differences in the options, so I went to Microsoft thinking I needed to do an upgrade on Office, and downloaded the upgrade. When I went to install it I got an error message. I took a closer look at the "Help About" menu in Excel but only looked for the version number and didn't see the "...2002...".

Sorry to waist everyone's time...I'm usually smarter than that.
