Couple of noobie questions

Hi all,

Can someone help with this formula? I'm getting an error but dont know why:

=IF(A2="","",(F2="",SUM(G2*1.175),F2*1.175))


and also, if i have 2 columns that only one needs data how can i set it to not allow both to be entered. For example a receipt and debit column and only one needs a monetry value, not both. Would it be part of the data validation tool?
