Whenever I use the =TODAY() stamp I always get the time as well...I'm just looking to use the current date only.....any ideas?

The Today() function gives the date. the NOW() function gives date and time. .. format the cell via Format|Cells Number tab. Then pick Date and select your preference.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

=today() is only for date. do you have an example of what you are seeing?
Sorry coffee hasn't kicked in yet....yeah the =Today() function is working great.....
