Currency Formatting

I have a spreadsheet that tracks sales by salesperson, mgr, new/used car/truck and gross profit.

I swear last week if I typed 1 4 7 5 in gross profit it popped up as $1475. But today I get $15. I have to type 1 4 7 5 . 0 to make it say $1475.

So I'm either crazy, or my formatting got jacked up somehow. Any ideas?
