    Making different boxes different colours

    I'm making a speadsheet, consisting of numbers.

    I need to make it, so if the number in the box is higher,the same, or lower than the number in the box higher, it will go a certain colour (Green, Orange, Red).

    So basically, the number in a box is 22, if the number in the box below is under 22, it goes red, if it is 22, it goes orange, and if it's higher than 22, it goes green. I need to put this in alot of boxes, but it can only change colour depending on the box directly ontop of it.

    Is this possible?

    Use Conditional formatting. Specify the condition and chose the desired color..

    I did this, but It only works for one cell, is there a way to drag it so that works in every box (changing the colours depending on whats on top)

    using the formula is option
    use the three conditions
    =a2<a1 red
    =a2=a1 orange
    =a2>a1 green
    you can then copy paste special formatting to any other cell that needs doing the references will self adjust(i think 2003 has a format painter that will also do it)

    How do I copy paste special formatting? I've tried it just on the cell but its not working.

    This doesn't work, it doesn't change the numbers, so it's all depending on one cell.
