Subtract If

I'm familiar with SUMIF but actually need a SUBTRACTIF. I've attached a sample. What I need to do is look at Column A and if the same account number appears in consecutive cells, say A1 and A2, then calcualte the difference in sales in Column C. The result could appear in Column E.

starting in E3 then copy down.

Hi NFJim,

Getting the answer in column C will result in a circular reference and hence would not work. I have added a formula in Column E to get the answer you want. Please check and confirm if it helps.

No need to worry about the circular reference.
