excel line graphs average

hi I am new to the forum
I do not know if this the correct place to paste my Qs
forgive me for that..

I have multiple long line graphs (time with particles number) and I need to get the average values of the graph in different times ( for example from 1-3/04/2009 and then average values from 25-28/04/2009), the time values that I want an average for are numerous and I cant do it through the sheet (take long time!) ,so is there any way to take from the graph itself? even any add on or software to just highlight the area and get the averages?

Hello adils, welcome to the forum.

A graph will plot your numbers. If you need to average sections of your data, a graph will not necessarily be the best interface or solution.

Why is that? Can you post an example of your data and chart?

Excel is pretty fast at calculating averages, and the formula can be set up to work on a range of numbers that is dynamic.

But recommending a solution without seeing your data or understanding what you want to achieve is near impossible.

for example for the following graph I need to take the peak values average ..
that is for example
11:32 to 12:27 ..and so on for each peak activities and I have more than 20 graphs of them..
I have limited time to do this ,, actually I should submit my project within 3 months ..
is there any quicker way to do this ? obtaining the averages for the graph's peaks .

If you can post a Word document with an embedded Excel file or image, then you can also post an Excel file, no?

If you need help with Word, please feel welcome to post a Word file.

Hmm, not quite sure what you're after. Calculate the averages and graph them like the attached maybe?

That is not what i wanted
maybe I should be clear enough,,, sorry,
I want the average reading for each peak for example;
the first peak in the graph is from 10:42 to 10: 52 ( what is the average reading in this time period)the second peak is from 11:02 to 11:17( what is the average reading in this time period) ..
and so one for each significant peak ..
that is, I have the time for the peaks and I want the average reading for each peak ..

No still not the thing I wanted ..
here is more illustration I wanted the average of the readings inside the circles ..
and please would illustrate for me the way you do it rather than the results ..because I have tens of these graphs..

So far every suggestion included a formula and hence a way to do it, not just the results.

Why just the points you circled? What are your criteria for including peaks or ignoring peaks? Since there are a few peaks in the JPG that you did not circle ....
