    completely not clear.your formula has only one condition.try this with Ctrl+Shift+Enter
    {=SUM(IF(E55:E118,"Long",(IF(E55:E118,"short",AA55:AA118))))}

    Lewis Koh,

    Your formula works for me:
    =SUMIF(E55:E118,"Long",AA55:AA118)

    You could also try:
    =SUMPRODUCT(--($E$55:$E$118="Long"),--($AA$55:$AA$118))

    What is the second condition?
    Have a great day,
