Excel 2007 : Copying a sheet with a chart embedded 2007

I am a longtime user of Excel 2003 switching to 2007. Among the many annoying changes they have made (sure there are many good ones too!) is the following:
With Excel 2003 if you copied a sheet that had a graph embedded in it, everything would copy across nicely and the graph in the new sheet would refer to the rows and columns in the copied sheet, ready for you to put new data in it.
Now I find with Excel 2007, the graph in the copied sheet still has all its references pointing to the old sheet, so that you have to click on each of the graph curves and change the references, or create a completely new graph! This can be very annoying if there are a lot of curves or you have spent a lot of time formatting your graph.
There MUST be an easy way to solve this.
Can anyone help me with this?

Hi Frank, welcome to the forum. I'm not in front of 2007 right now, but in XL 2010 the behaviour is the same as in XL 2003, i.e. the chart in the new sheet references the data in the new sheet. How are you copying the sheet?

Apparently this is a problem with charts that were created in XL 2003, but this can be fixed by installing the Service Pack.

Hi Teylyn, Thanks very much for the suggestions. I have read the research you linked to and they admitted there that it was a compatibility issue between 2003/2007. Trouble is, I am having the same problem with a spreadsheet created in 2007 version. I will now try and find out about the upgrade pack mentioned, (SP1) and see if that changes things.
