Has anyone noticed Excel spontaneously generating range names? I know it does this with Print Ranges, but one I've found to be a real problem is "Database". This range name is applied (without my noticing) to a set of rows/records that meet Excel's criteria for a simple database. And this is fine until I later add columns at the beginning or on the end of my original database. The spontaneously-generated range name does not include these new columns. As a result, the usual database functions (sort, column filtering, etc.) only operate on the columns included in the named "Database" and exclude the newly added columns. If I haven't noticed this, then my database becomes useless if I perform a sort function as Excel only sorts the columns in "Database" and leaves the newly-added ones as is.
